ANDY SHAUF CATCH YOUR EYE

Canadian singer songwriter Andy Shauf announced his forthcoming record Norm back in November. It will be his eighth full-length record, following last year's Wilds, and takes its title from writing sessions tailored to David Lynch’s 2001 thriller, Mulholland Drive. Following on from the bitter-sweet love song 'Wasted On You' is the second song 'Catch Your Eye'. The new single carries itself at a meandering pace, leaving lots of space for both the vocals and instruments to shine. A serene musical landscape is pained with use of strings, piano, bass and gentle drums. A strong sense of longing is created by the multi-layered, harmonised melody that Andy Shauf sings on the line 'I need to meet you, I need to catch your eye', leading into a twinkling synthesiser whose melody wanders with a slow-paced romanticism. The new record Norm will be Andy Shauf's third release on ANTI- and is set to arrive on February 10th. You can check out 'Catch Your Eye' here. -Ellie Rose-Davies
